These documents have been produced to assist in the identification of the tasks you carry out in providing a care and education service to children.
 They will help you identify where opportunities occur for demonstrating your ability, skill and knowledge of providing care that meets national standards.
They will also help in identifying where you require additional training, either in technique or knowledge.
They will assist you when working towards the NVQ to identify evidence that can provide demonstrating your competence.
NVQs are a process by which you can gain national recognition, by a qualification, for the work that you do.
NVQs are not training programmes. They are a process of continued assessment of your ability, skill and knowledge to provide quality care. NVQs will also take into consideration where you gained your experience and knowledge.
You will be supported throughout the process.
